'Cause you're hot then you're cold...
May. 1st, 2015 03:11 amI just signed up for a free course from Stanford University on Environmental Physiology (how the body reacts to extremes cold, heat, aging, stress, altitude, and variable pressure). It's free, and it's open now (you need to register with Stanford Online though). It started last week, and they roll out one of the above topics each week (it's on week two), but they give until the end of 2015 to complete the course material to receive a "statement of accomplishment" (which does not give university credit or anything like that, it's just a Gold Star to put in your scrapbook of "things I've done"... plus you've learned stuff, presumably, if you finish it). Given the chaos that dominates much of my life, that flexibility and lack of tight deadlines is a wonderful thing to me!
Anyway, here's a link to the course overview and signup page:
Your Body in the World: Adapting to Your Next Big Adventure
and there's a promo video on YouTube, here: http://youtu.be/2b-_COQj7OE
And because I know you want to hear the song referenced in the subject now...
... you're welcome. Check out their cover of "Du Hast" for an added bonus.
