Thanks kallistii! I am trying it "out of the box" for a while longer. I hadn't seen any ads until two days ago when I started looking at other programs on the computer. The main apps — the Chrome browser, the media player, and the office app — don't seem to have ads. More news on the UbiSlate in a week or two, but overall it's mind-blowing (in a good way) for what it is! In particular, the purported HD video co-processor to the CPU does an amazing and seamless job of showing at least 720p HD video, even when streamed over wifi... very, very nice just for that one feature.
